Adaptors are used to connect a regulator to a cylinder or other equipment where there are two different CGA threads on the mating parts making a direct connection impossible. Adaptors are not recommended as permanent installations. The proper regulator for each gas should be used on all cylinders and systems. Adaptors must be selected with care to insure that regulators and other equipment are not used on gases that are incompatible or vary in pressure rating. A mixture of non-compatible gases in any system is a possible hazard. Therefore, regulators and all other parts of an adapted system must be thoroughly purged of all contaminants, especially organic material and residual gases. Replace worn or damaged fittings immediately to insure safe and dependable operation.
