TiN coating is applied to the “working” part of the drill. This allows for all of the benefits that the user receives from a fully TiN coated produced, but at a reduced price when compared to a drill that is fully coated. The TiN (Titanium Nitrite) coating provides a super hard surface with high lubricity and longer tool life, as the heat is deflected away from the drill.
